This pop-pop boat was designed by Kenneth Wells and published in book 1 of Step by Step Metalwork. I waited a long time for one to appear for sale but in the end, I made one myself, following the instructions in the book. The only major difference is that I used brass sheet instead of tin-plate because it was easier to obtain.
It is a traditional pop-pop design with a copper coil type boiler. It has a small meths burner located under the coil. The hull, cabin, burner and rudder are folded brass sheet, soldered at the joints. The tiller and mast are brass wire.
It is painted approximately as per the book cover illustration, except the cabin, which I have painted black.
