This is a direct acting steam powered boiler feed pump. The water pump is driven directly by the piston rod of a double acting cylinder, with no rotating parts.
The cylinder is 1/2" bore x approx. 3/4" stroke. It is controlled by a slide valve. The valve rod is fitted with a pair of tappets, which are pushed back and forth by a push rod attached to the piston/pump rod. The pump bore is 1/4", the water flow being controlled by two non-return valves. At the time of writing, it works on both air and steam, but not consistently.| Make | Stuart Turner |
