Steamco are makers of simple but high quality steam toys in Australia. The STC-01 is the cheapest in their range but with no compromise in the quality.
The boiler - 45.5mm diam x 113mm long - is a simple horizontal pot boiler, heated by an Esbit fuel burner. Fittings consist of an overflow plug (with a large tommy bar!), a safety valve and steam feed connection.
The steam is fed directly to the top of the engine block, with no superheat, regulator or lubricator. The block is a rather attractive solid brass affair, supported by two brass pillars. The cylinder is a single acting oscillating cylinder, 8mm bore x 18mm stroke. The flywheel is a 61mm diameter spoked type. Exhaust is fed to a base mounted chimney.
The base has a drip tray underneath the cylinder and a simulated hand rail around two sides of the engine.
The engine is in virtually mint condition with only minor scratches where the burner tray enters the firebox.
