This model is part of the Lutz Hielscher range but it's model name or number is unknown. It is a simple single cylinder engine directly driving a small dynamo which powers a LED.
The boiler is a typical Hielscher glass flask, 29mm diameter x 48mm high, heated by a small solid fuel tablet tray. The steam is fed directly to the back of the port face of the standard Hielscher oscillating cylinder; 3mm bore x 7.5mm stroke. The cylinder is held against the port face by an O ring instead of a trunion bolt and spring. The piston rod is connected to a disk crank, which is attached directly on the shaft of a small 15mm diameter dynamo. The output wires from the dynamo are soldered to the legs of a white LED. The exhaust is fed through a flexible pipe to avoid the dynamo. The whole is mounted on a wooden base.
As acquired, the cylinder, piston and burner tray were missing. I have had a reproduction cylinder and piston made but it still has no burner tray. The engine is not in working condition, which will have to be investigated.
